Christopher Koch

Re-recording Mixer/Supervising Sound Editor

Chris Koch went to school for Music and Sound Recording at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He played guitar and cello and sang in the choir. After graduation, he worked in a CD Mastering House, did location classical recordings, and eventually ended up at Sony Music Studios in New York. There he worked in the Mastering department, Archives, and eventually in Audio Post Production, where he had the opportunity to use his music and recording skills in countless films and DVDs for Sony / BMG label artists. Chris joined Postworks New York in 2008 after Sony Music Studios closed, where he had been a mixer for 10 years. Chris is an Emmy Award winning mixer for his work on “Tony Bennett, an American Classic,” and was nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel award for his work on “Muscle Shoals.” When he’s not on the mix stage, Chris is with his three children, all of whom now play music themselves, violin, cello, and piano.
